Meet Ezra
Senior portraits always tell a story, and when it came to Ezra’s senior portrait session, we couldn’t wait to tell hers. Ezra is a senior at Cary Academy (Teresa’s alma mater!), and we loved that she brought her full self to every moment of her session. From her passion for theater and Model UN to her love of music and movement, every part of her senior pictures reflected her unique personality and the energy that makes her who she is.
A Purposeful Senior Portrait Experience
Our senior portrait experience always begins with getting to know each senior and their vision for the session. During our planning meeting, we learned about Ezra’s interests, style, and how she wanted her portraits to feel. From there, our design meeting was focused on intentionally creating outfits that aligned with her aesthetic and helped us choose the right location for her vision. Together, we selected neutral pieces that reflected her individuality while allowing her natural expressions to shine.
A Downtown Durham Backdrop with Edge and Style
For Ezra’s senior portrait session, we chose the picture-perfect American Tobacco Campus in Downtown Durham. Its mix of distressed walls, red brick, industrial textures and surprising murals provided the perfect setting for the androgynous, edgy aesthetic that Ezra envisioned. This location helped us show both grit and refined style, allowing us to create portraits that felt balanced and true to who Ezra is. We focused on showcasing Ezra in front of neutral settings and varied textures, to add dimension to her collection, while the architecture all around us added the iconic downtown feel that gave the edgy feeling we were aiming for.

Bringing Ezra’s Story to Life
Ezra’s senior portrait session celebrated her many passions. She is an active part of her school’s theater program, but she thrives behind the scenes as part of the technical team. She is also deeply involved in Model UN, where she leads as president and organizes inter-school activities. Ezra’s leadership extends to her work as president of SDB, a student organization that partners with the school’s administration to support inclusivity and collaboration. When she isn’t planning or leading, Ezra can be found at the piano or practicing Chinese dance, a meaningful connection to her heritage. We loved capturing all of these aspects that make her who she is in her senior portrait session, and her multi-dimensional personality shines in each portrait.
With her high school journey coming to a close, and her sights set on Political Science in college, Ezra’s senior portraits will help her and her family treasure this moment for the years to come. From her creativity flair to celebrating her culture and her leadership, we loved capturing every side of her personality in her senior portrait session.
