As a photographer, you can see the same location every day and then one day it just clicks! I drive past the intersection of Morrisville Carpenter Road and Highway 55 every day on my way to the studio. When I was scouting locations for Brittany Mathis’ Bridal Portraits, I drove through this intersection and WHAM it hit me . . . p.e.r.f.e.c.t location for my country girl chic bride.
In business since 1865, The Carpenter Farm Supply is like taking a step back in time in the middle of a busy intersection. Piles of empty boxes of strawberries and fresh vegetables lined the old porch and beautiful Brittany, in her elegant beaded wedding gown, fit in perfectly.
Brittany’s wedding has some spectacular touches of her sweet Southern personality. The reception will include oatmeal cream pies and Sun Drop Soda in the bottle (yum!). We tried to bring a few of those elements in to her bridal portraits. I LOVE when my clients have fun ideas!
The Bride’s shoes will be Snead’s Ferry Sneakers. What are Snead’s Ferry Sneakers? Well, I had to ask too! Made popular by fisherman on the NC coast who were known to wear them with everything these white rain boot/waders are not just for fishermen anymore, they’re a pop culture standby.
What a beautiful afternoon we had together taking these portraits. Thanks especially to Carpenter Farm Supply for special permission to shoot at their location. Have a beautiful wedding Brittany! Best wishes!
