A few weeks before his senior year started, Punith contacted Teresa to schedule a senior portrait session. Punith had worked with Teresa for summer programs and knew that he wanted her to do his Cary Senior Portrait.
Punith was seeking an urban but natural environment for his session. He also wanted a few traditional elements and some brightly colored backgrounds. Teresa recommended the warehouse district of downtown Raleigh. It offers a wide variety of architectural elements and also has nearby city parks with trees, flowers and other natural elements.
Punith met Teresa on a hot early August Friday evening in downtown Raleigh. He brought several outfits, including a shirt and tie, and several casual colorful shirts with shorts. He easily reflected his modern yet somewhat traditional style. Teresa had him laughing with her corny jokes as they moved through the urban scenes; with a few serious faces mixed in! The combination of the urban landscape and the natural backdrops was exactly what he was looking for.
A few weeks after the shoot, Teresa met with Punith and his family to view nearly 50 proof prints. They were excited to see so many options. Punith chose his favorite for his yearbook photo. They also chose a favorite portrait for a beautiful gallery-wrapped canvas for their home. In addition, the decided on their full collection of digital files so they could print and share with family and friends.
Punith has completed his senior year at Cary Academy. His friends describe him as outgoing, funny, and always helpful. Punith loves to hang out with his friends for smoothies, pizza and movies. Punith’s family works to balance the American lifestyle with Indian cultures, and Punith is the first generation of his family to live his entire life in the US. He loves baseball and aspires to be an engineer. We look forward to watching his future success.
