Ari’s mom reached out to My Friend Teresa Studios for his high school senior portraits. We had done sister Ayla’s portraits previously, so it was a natural fit! With a busy summer schedule, we finally found a date to plan a session.

High School Senior Ari K

At the pre-shoot meeting, Teresa learned that Ari loves swimming, sunglasses, tie-dyed shirts, and his sister Ayla! His friends say he is goofy and exuberant. He also teaches Hebrew. He wanted senior portraits that were not too traditional, and were maybe a little adventurous. Teresa recommended some cool spots in Downtown Raleigh.

They met on an early September afternoon near the Contemporary Art Museum. The area is undergoing re-vitalization, so there are lots of opportunities for interesting shots. Mom was a little concerned that he had not brought the ‘right’ dress shoes, but his Chaco’s looked great! He was the only senior so far this year to bring two kinds of tie-dyed shirt. For some adventure shots, he climbed on top of some colorful dumpsters – we still aren’t quite sure how he did this. He and Teresa had a good laugh about a speeding motorcyclist who went flying by down a dead end sidewalk…they still aren’t quite sure where he went! They ended the shoot with some shots with mom.

A few weeks later, they returned to the studio to view Ari’s portrait slide show and all of his portraits on the gallery wall. They were so excited by all of portraits that they just couldn’t decide on one. They chose to purchase the full digital collection (full resolution files with unlimited print rights). Teresa also designed a wall art grouping with two framed prints – one of Ari and one of Ayla. We fulfilled this order a few months later when the family completed a home renovation project. They were thrilled when our professional installed the two framed prints on their wall, completing the project.

Ari has graduated, but no doubt remains close with his family.   And his tie-dyed shirts!
