As he was finishing his junior year, Luke started to look forward to his next year as a high school senior (Cary Academy, Class of 2017). He reached out to My Friend Teresa Studios and we scheduled his pre-session meeting.
High School Senior: Luke M.
Luke loves soccer, chorus, and does English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring. He lives near Apex and loves the small town feeling. That made selecting a location for his senior portraits really easy! Teresa recommended a they also include some shots at nearby Jordan Lake, especially in the late afternoon light. She knew a secluded, ‘secret’ spot that would be perfect.
They met early one Sunday morning in mid-September in historic downtown Apex. They explored several spots as they walked through the quiet town – so full of memories! They also travelled to Jordan Lake, which they had all to themselves. There were some trees that had fallen and ‘caught’ each other and everyone really liked the way they looked, so they included them in the session.
Luke started in his classic shirt and tie, but quickly progressed to more casual outfits. He was laughing at Teresa’s corny jokes in no time and they had a lot of fun together. They got some great portraits that reflected his love of Apex, and nature.
A little later, Luke and his mom met with Teresa to view a slideshow of Luke’s portraits. All of the 60+ proofs were also matted and displayed on the studio gallery wall. Teresa shared the yearbook guidelines with them and they chose Luke’s favorites. Using her online tools, Teresa was able to custom-design a grouping of 4 canvases for their home and show them what it would look like on their walls. They loved it! They also chose their 10 favorites as digital files so they could print and share with family and friends.
Luke has graduated, but no doubt keeps that small town feeling wherever he goes.
