During the first week of her senior year (Cary Academy, Class of 2017), Biruk reached out to us to plan her high school senior picture.

High School Senior Picture Biruk L

We met with Biruk and her dad, and learned that Biruk is the oldest child with two younger sisters. Biruk loves science, and wants to go to one of the local universities when she graduates, possibly to study public health. Biruk was seeking a natural, relaxed setting for her portraits. Teresa recommended the Raulston arboretum, and they set a date.

Teresa met Biruk and her dad early one Saturday morning at the JC Raulston arboretum. She wore a beautiful red dress that she got on a trip to Ethiopia. Her parents met as neighbors in Ethiopia before moving to the US. The weather was the best of the season – cool and refreshing. Dad was so sweet – he kept offering to carry Teresa’s camera bag. They got some beautiful shots.

A few weeks later, they came to the studio to view all of the portraits on the gallery wall. They loved them! With some help from Teresa, they sorted through all of the proofs to chose two portraits for the yearbook.   To share with family and friends, they chose a portrait of Biruk in her heirloom dress as a full resolution digital file. That way they can share and print as much as they want.

In May, Biruk graduated from Cary Academy. She is off to her next life adventure and will no doubt be radiant and beautiful wherever she lands!
