Kelly and her twin brother Tommy were starting to really enjoy their summer. Their senior year at Cary Academy (Class of 2017) was fast approaching. They contacted My Friend Teresa Studios for high school senior portrait Cary. We did portraits for their older sister, Laura, that they loved, so it was only natural.
High School Senior Portrait Cary: Kelly B 2017
At the planning meeting for her high school senior portrait Cary, we learned that Kelly loves playing softball (especially shortstop). She missed the previous season due to an injury, but has nearly finished her rehab. She did not want pictures in a garden of flowers – instead she chose the urban vibe of the downtown Raleigh warehouse district.
We met Kelly on a hot and sticky July evening. She and Teresa laughed about how the 90’s were back…she totally got Teresa’s reference to Kelly from Saved by the Bell in her light wash jeans and white tennis shoes. Kelly and her sister had some great ideas for the shoot, which we incorporated. She brought her Dad’s bat (by special permission) for some funny shots in her formal dress. And of course we got some awesome active shots with her softball glove, including her ‘rally’ pose. Teresa and Kelly named her one fly-away baby hair ‘Isabelle’ because it was so flighty and whimsical!
After the session, Teresa couldn’t wait to upload the pictures. Kelly had over 40 amazing portraits to view with her mom on the gallery wall when she came to the studio. They chose her yearbook photo and then about 20-30 favorites to include in a custom-designed album.
Kelly is ready to graduate soon – no doubt a milestone day for her and her twin Tommy. We are certain Kelly’s fierce attitude and strength will serve her well on her next life adventure. Look out if she has her rally pose!
