Corinne’s family came into our planning meeting prepared with thoughtful ideas of what they wanted to feature in her senior portraits. From there, we created a plan to encompass these ideas, with our expertise on how to achieve it all, and create a collection of senior pictures that felt cohesive and told her full story.
We started in Corinne’s cozy at-home study space, capturing the resilience and focus that got her through middle and high school, especially during the pandemic. From there, we headed over to her school, Cary Academy, where the grand piano and our old-fashioned microphone added a classic touch to her portraits. Whether she was singing into the microphone or posing at the grand piano, Corinne was center stage, and we utilized atmosphere spray to give a foggy smoke effect behind her to add drama and flair, and to create stunning senior photography.

Family Connection at Duke Gardens
From there, we headed over to Duke Gardens, a location that holds personal significance for Corinne’s family and their family’s history. Her parents were married at the bamboo grove there, meaning that this backdrop offered both a beautiful setting and a connection to her roots. We are sure that it must have felt like a full-circle moment for mom and dad, especially! Duke Gardens is one of our favorite locations for senior portraits in the Triangle, with its lush greenery and breathtaking florals, it’s perfect for professional senior pictures, but the family history made it even more special.
Celebrating Culture with her Qipao
As part of her senior portrait experience, we helped Corinne with outfit choices during her at-home design meeting. We chose a mix of outfits that would make her look and feel her best, as well as suiting the locations and overall style of each one. One of our favorite looks came from her mom’s suggestion – a traditional qipao, which honored her mother’s culture. The delicate fabric, beautiful detailing, and quiet elegance in this outfit added a layer of personal meaning that elevated her portraits and reinforced her story.
