Sweet Baby Emma made her appearance in late summer and promptly joined the My Friend Teresa family! Our award winning newborn portraits photographer, Aurora DeLuca, captured Emma’s beautiful first Newborn Portraits when she was only about a week old.
Newborn Portraits: Sweet Baby Brothers and Happy Mommy Tears
We love working with our families and this one is truly special! Laura C had just completed her Cary Senior Portraits session with us. Laura’s mom mentioned that her oldest daughter Beth was expecting soon with a baby girl and she would love to have a special Newborn Portrait session for her. The timing was perfect since Aurora DeLuca had just joined our studio. Aurora specializes in newborn photography and holds the Master of Photography degree for superior photography quality and the Photographic Craftsman degree, one of the highest recognitions for speaking, writing and mentoring in photography. We are thrilled to have Aurora as part of our studio.
Aurora and Teresa met with Beth and her family a few weeks before Beth’s scheduled delivery. They planned a simple but elegant newborn portrait session. Beth and husband Scott were excited about the session. Big brothers Ben and Charlie were VERY excited about their new baby sister’s eminent arrival and promised to be big helpers for mommy and daddy.
As part of our studio service, Justin visited Beth and family at their home just before Emma’s arrival to help select clothes for the session. No stress about what to wear! Beth was very appreciative since she already had a lot on her mind.
Only a few days after Emma’s arrival, the family came to the studio for their session. Ben and Charlie were super excited and very sweet with Baby Emma. Aurora spent a few minutes with Baby Emma…who promptly went to sleep! Aurora got some portraits of the family together, and of Ben and Charlie with their new little sister.
Ben and Charlie went off to explore downtown Cary with their dad, and Beth and her mom stayed behind to watch Baby Emma’s Newborn Portraits session. They enjoyed a quiet lunch together. A comfortable recliner and a soft blanket allowed for a short and much needed rest for Beth.
While Beth and her mom were at the studio, they also took the opportunity to see younger sister Laura’s behind-the-scenes senior portrait video…which brought tears to Beth’s eyes. Beth has a special bond with her little sister and this was a really special moment for the family to share.
Baby Emma was a star! She was quiet, happy, and sleeping through her session….with a few sly smiles. Which of course Aurora and her assistant Bridget were able to capture.
A few weeks later Beth and her family returned to the studio for the big reveal. The behind-the-scenes video of their session brought a few tears and the family was thrilled to see so many beautiful portraits of Emma.
They especially loved the portraits of Emma sleeping on a soft gray background, with a tiny pink flower headband. Of course Ben and Charlie were excited about their portraits too! The family chose their favorite 10 for a digital file collection, and a beautiful framed canvas for over Emma’s crib.
Aurora completed a final re-touch on their selected files and we ordered Emma’s canvas. A few weeks later Scott, our art installer, installed Emma’s beautiful Newborn Portraits over her crib (with lots of help from Ben and Charlie!), and reported that Baby Emma had already grown and changed in just a few short weeks.
Our families are special and we can’t wait to capture precious moments as Ben, Charlie and Emma grow! Maybe senior portraits in a few years???
