Meet Karly
Every senior portrait experience tells its own story, and Karly’s was full of color, laid-back energy, and personality. Karly is a senior at Panther Creek High School in Cary, and as the youngest of the three Stevens girls, her session marked the final chapter in their family’s tradition of having senior pictures created by us. We loved every minute of capturing Karly’s senior pictures and we’re thrilled to round off the Stevens family’s senior pictures journey with beautiful portraits that celebrate how much their girls have grown and changed through the years.
Karly’s Senior Portrait Experience: Starting with Her Planning & Design Meetings
Before her session, we began with Karly’s planning meeting, which is where we get to know each senior, their personality, and the details that make them unique. This meeting helps us learn what they love, what they feel confident in, and what they hope their portraits will express. Karly had one clear vision for her senior portraits: she wanted flowers, flowers, and more flowers!
Once we knew what vibe Karly wanted to go for, we met again at her home for her design meeting, to plan the details and select her outfits from the comfort of her closet. She was drawn to soft, pastel and muted tones and we knew these would complement the colors of the flower field and the natural feel of her chosen locations. Together, we curated a selection of gentle pinks, soft blues, and creamy neutrals that brought warmth to her portraits and made her look and feel her best. The soft color palette would tie her senior pictures together beautifully, keeping the focus on her while blending seamlessly with each background

Among the Flowers in Raleigh
We love nothing more than when we get to turn our clients’ vision into reality, so we found a beautiful flower field in Raleigh, and we started there. Karly’s senior portrait experience began at Juniper Creek Flower Field in Raleigh, surrounded by vibrant blooms and soft sunlight. From the butter-yellow sunflowers to the bright pink cosmos, Juniper Creek matched her cheerful spirit perfectly, and her playful energy came through in every image. We captured Karly in a variety of settings here, with relaxed senior portraits among the flowers that she had envisioned, to confident poses that reflected her charming personality, this session was true to her and told the story of her connection to the place she calls home.
From Country Charm to Golden Light at the Lake
Next, we made our way to Cary to capture a little rustic, country flair. It’s hard to imagine a country feeling within the NC Triangle, but Teresa has over 300 locations to choose from – so if country is what your senior is looking for, we know just the spot. While there, a sudden rainstorm tried to change our plans, but it didn’t dampen Karly’s spirit. She was a trooper and kept smiling throughout, and we kept photographing. That resulted in genuine senior portraits that have a little touch of something different, and are completely authentic. But, just like typical North Carolina weather, the rain cleared up, we captured even more senior pictures and you would never guess from the photographs that it had been pouring just moments before.
By the time we arrived at Jordan Lake, the rain was long behind us and the sun came out to give us a beautiful golden hour glow. The calm water and sandy beach made the perfect backdrop for senior portraits that felt peaceful and reflective. The evening light wrapped around Karly beautifully, creating a serene finish to a session that captured who she is and the area that has helped shape her story.
