Champion runner Sarah B began planning for her senior year. She contacted My Friend Teresa Studios for her senior picture Cary. We met with her and mom, Mary, in mid-June to get to know Sarah and plan her session.
Senior Picture Cary: Sarah B Class of 2017
Sarah is a state champion in track and field, and cross-country. Sarah has already been recruited by West Point for the cross-country team, but she is also considering other schools. She is driven, determined, and has been running since middle school.
For her senior picture Cary she wanted portraits that were candid and not too posed. She also wanted to reflect her bright personality. Pictures of her running usually show her ‘intense’ face, so she wanted some that captured her love of the sport. Together we chose the UNC-Chapel Hill campus for her session.
We met Sarah and her mom on a late June evening at the UNC campus. The campus architecture and nearby Coker arboretum were the perfect backdrop for a wide range of portraits. After her more formal portraits, she changed into her running gear. Teresa set up an epic series of shots with dramatic lighting. She even gave Sarah a small stick to ‘leap’ over to show her power and movement. The result was nothing short of amazing.
Sarah and her mom joined Teresa at the studio to view a video compilation of Sarah’s portraits, followed by the ‘wall of Sarah’…all of her portraits matted and displayed on our gallery wall. With Teresa’s help, Sarah chose her favorite for the yearbook. They also chose a portrait for a striking acrylic block ‘print’, perfect for display. They loved everything so much they also decided to purchase all of the digital files so they could print and enjoy as much as they wanted.
Sarah is ready to graduate and wish her well….wherever her next run takes her!
