Brooke was just completing her junior year at Cary Academy when her thoughts turned to her senior year. The first order of business was to plan her senior portrait session (Class of 2017). She had lots of senior picture ideas!

Teresa met with Brooke and mom, Helen, in late May. Teresa learned that Brooke is warm and out-going. She is active in the outdoors club, so she wanted a very natural setting for her portraits. She had lots of senior picture ideas, including large trees, playing in the water and reckless adventure! She chose West Point on the Eno for her session.

Thunderstorms and rain caused us postponement of the original shoot. A few days later, we planned to meet early on Sat morning at West Point Eno.  Teresa was there the evening before for another shoot and discovered they were setting up for a large festival – there was no way to shoot there on Saturday morning.   Knowing that Brooke really wanted to shoot outdoors in nature, Teresa proposed moving to Camden Park.  The beautiful rocks, trees, and water were a great backdrop.  And….it rained (again!).  They preserved through the first 15 min of the shoot in the rain, and then got amazing shots that only ended up better for the effort!  Brooke was totally fearless on the rock, trees, and even posed on the railing of the bridge (“I can go there.  Do you want me to go there?”).  She is beautiful…and brave.

A few weeks later we were finally successful meeting at West Point on the Eno to complete her shoot. Again, she was fearless – posing on rock, floating in the water, and jumping down from tree logs! This shoot was definitely the reckless adventure she desired.  Her senior picture ideas came to life!

When Brooke and her mom returned to the studio to see the portraits, they were thrilled.  The variety of poses and styles perfectly reflected Brooke.  Brooke chose her senior portraits.  With Teresa’s help they selected a canvas to display in their home.  Using the studio gallery wall, they sorted the proofs to pick their favorites.  From those Teresa designed mini-accordion books to share with family and friends; and a custom 10X10 linen album as an heirloom keepsake of this milestone time.  They also chose the full collection digital files so that they would have all the portraits to continue to enjoy.

Brooke graduated from Cary Academy in the spring of 2017, and is probably climbing trees, playing in the water and having more reckless adventure as she continues her education.
