In mid July, as the new school year drew closer, Eesha S (Cary Academy Class of 2018) contacted us about her senior pictures. We met with her and mom, Alka, and learned more about what she was looking for.
Senior Pictures Cary: Eesha S 2018
Eesha is a lover of music – particularly singing and playing the piano, guitar, and ukulele. She has also been a part of the Cary Academy speech and debate team, featuring in original oratory, taking on a variety of topics including “slacktivism”. Eesha has a natural smile and gregarious yet independent personality and hoped to showcase her heritage through her senior pictures.
Teresa met Eesha in early September in downtown Durham. To our delight and surprise, there was an unexpected food truck rodeo going on in our location, so we changed our plan to have her don her traditional clothing. She looked perfect in her black, white, and gold sari with the railroad tracks and lush trees in the background. Then she put on a pair of dark blue jeans and a long sleeve, magenta tunic for more senior pictures in downtown Durham. In another unexpected twist, we ended up taking some senior pictures in a parking garage where Eesha wore a blue and white striped maxi dress. The senior pictures were the perfect combination of her culture and personality.
Teresa selected over 50 portraits from the session to show Eesha and her mom a few weeks later. With guidance from Teresa, Eesha chose her yearbook photos, which Teresa submitted to the Cary Academy yearbook staff on her behalf.
Eesha and her mom also used the studio gallery wall to sort the portraits into their favorites and some “maybes”. From these selections, they chose three canvases, one framed and two unframed, to display in their home. Additionally, they ordered the digital files to have all of the senior pictures on hand to look back on in the future.
Eesha graduated in May 2018 and is headed to Boston University in the fall, where she plans on studying chemistry and medical sciences. She dreams of one day being a physician.
