With summer in full swing, Emily L’s thoughts turned to her senior year (Cary Academy, Class of 2017) and senior portrait looks. Her best friend Sara B had just done a senior portrait session with My Friend Teresa Studios and had so much fun that Emily called us too!
Senior Portrait Looks: Emily L
We met with Emily and her parents to learn more about their ideas for senior portrait looks. Emily is active in cross country and track; she is also a lifeguard at the YMCA. She loves drawing and painting. And she is a yearbook editor. She was seeking a location that would capture her love of nature – wild and free. Teresa recommended Camden Park, along with a brief session at Cary Academy for some running portraits.
Teresa and Emily met in early August at Camden Park and got some amazing shots in the natural setting of the waterfall, wooden bridge, and wildflowers. They captured Emily’s spirit and love of outdoors. They met a few days later early one morning at Cary Academy for some running shots. Teresa’s vision of having her running through a puddle came to life…..with a little help from a couple of gallons of water from home!
The denim jacket Emily wore has a great family story: Emily’s mom and aunt bought identical denim jackets over 20 years ago. They were treasured and kept. Emily recently started wearing her mom’s and wanted to wear it for her portraits, but was disappointed when it developed a hole. Aunt Janet to the rescue…she sent Emily hers to wear!
Emily and her family returned to the studio a few weeks later to see the amazing gallery wall of Emily’s portraits. Emily selected her yearbook portraits. They loved all the portraits and selected 10 for a full resolution digital file package so they could share and print as much as they wanted.
Emily graduated from Cary Academy in the spring, and is no doubt off and running to her next great adventure!
