Amy L was enjoying the summer before her senior year when one of her friends mentioned what an amazing time she had doing her senior portraits with My Friend Teresa Studios.  Amy reached out to us too and we got busy!

Senior Portraits Cary:  Violin, Tennis and a Cornfield

At Amy’s planning meeting, Teresa learned that this Cary Academy student (Class of 2021) loves tennis and the violin, and is a passionate scientist.  In fifth grade she was voted “most likely to be a female scientist”.  At school she is on the varsity tennis team and has been playing violin since she was 4 years old.

For her senior portraits, Amy wanted a natural setting, but not ‘just trees’.    She loves art and color, and definitely wanted to include tennis and the violin.  Our creative team got busy planning her session, and helping her select her outfits.

Amy’s first session was the week before school started.  She met our team at the Cary Academy tennis courts for some late afternoon portraits.  Amy looked right at home on the court.

Then everyone travelled to a private farm property in Pittsboro.  Justin took Amy’s parents on a ride on the all-terrain vehicle, including the notorious ‘bat cave’ which made everyone squeal.  Teresa got some great portraits of Amy with the trees, flowers, wooded paths, and the cornfield.  Amy’s parents took pictures of themselves in each the spots, having their own iPhone session.  The group dodged bad weather the whole trip, but everyone loved the adventure, despite the steamy weather.

For her second session, Teresa met Amy at our studio.  We knew photographing Amy with the violin was a must. We created some modern studio portrait lighting to show off both Amy and her instrument.  The results are stunning!

Check out the behind-the-scenes video of Amy’s sessions:

Amy and her family returned to the studio a few weeks later to watch the behind-the-scenes video and a slideshow of all of her portraits.  Then  they got to enjoy the ‘big reveal’ of all of her images on our studio display wall.  Amy selected her yearbook portraits, and her family chose the full digital collection of files.  They just couldn’t part with any of them!

We enjoyed welcoming Amy into our ‘family’ and look forward to her future accomplishments.
