Looking forward to her senior year, Claire was excited to be one of the first to book her senior portraits Cary with us.  This guaranteed her choice of summer session dates.  Her older sister Hope had a great experience with us and we were thrilled to meet Claire and to work with the family again.

Senior Portraits Cary:  An urban art gallery and a special sunset

We met with Claire and her mom to plan her Senior Portraits Cary.  We learned that Claire loves hiking, hanging out with friends watching random TV shows, and baking with her family.  She was excited about her senior year.

For her senior portrait session, Claire wanted to keep it simple, and definitely wanted some urban architecture included.  Our creative team got started planning a session that captured her ideas.  A few weeks before her session, we met with Claire at her home to ‘shop her closet’  for the session.  One less thing to think about on the day of the session!

On her session date, we met Claire at our studio in downtown Cary for hair and make-up services with Denise, then it was off to downtown Raleigh for the session.   The session included the City Market, and the Warehouse district.

We spotted a mural with faces in fruit and veggies that lead to a long conversation on what veggie we would least like to be on . . . for sure, it was the beets! While we were photographing in the City Market area the owner of the City Market Artist Collective invited us to come inside. He told us about the artwork and artists they had featured and allowed us to take photographs. In a stairwell we found the sunset perfectly outside a stairwell window and used some special effects to create smoke that would capture the light.

Check out the behind-the-scenes video of Claire’s session:

Claire and her family returned to the studio a few weeks later to watch the behind-the-scenes video and a slideshow of all her portraits.  Claire chose her yearbook images.  She also selected 25-30 of her favorite images (it was hard to choose!) so that we could create a beautiful leather-bound artist-style album for her.  A canvas for their home, and the full collection of digital files rounded out their order.

The family also took advantage of our included family session offer for our senior session clients (Our senior portrait families love this!).  We captured some beautiful family portraits around graduation time for this amazing family to remember this special time.

We had such fun capturing beautiful images of Claire, Hope, and their family!  We love having them as part of our My Friend Teresa Studios family.
