We love it when younger siblings reach out for their turn at senior portraits!  We created portraits for Clay’s brother Sam T (Cardinal Gibbons Class of 2018), so of course we were thrilled to work with Clay (Cary Academy Class of 2021).

Senior Portraits Cary:  Beautiful music and a Family Tree

We met with Clay and his mom in the spring of his junior year at our studio to plan his Senior Portraits Cary.  We learned that Clay loves choral music and musical theater.  He was headed to Governor’s school the summer before his senior year for Choral Music.  Clay also has a strong interest in advocacy and politics and is a basketball fan.

For his senior portraits Cary, Clay wanted to include a few places that are particularly significant to him, along with some more urban scenes.  With his busy summer schedule and a looming school yearbook deadline, we scheduled a quick session focused only on his yearbook photos, then a more in-depth session later to go to those special places.

For Clay’s first Senior Portraits Cary session, we met at our studio in downtown Cary in early September.  It was a warm afternoon, but Clay looked great as we found some unique spots around town.  We got the perfect yearbook portraits, and he chose his favorite just in time for the yearbook deadline at school.

In the spring, just before his graduation, we met with Clay at Cary Academy.  The music room there holds special significance for Clay.  We also got some portraits on the campus with the beautiful afternoon light.

Our next stop was in Raleigh for several locations, including a mural, some urban scenes, and a park near his home where there is a tree planted that has special memories for him.

Clay returned to the studio a few weeks later to watch the behind-the-scenes video and a slideshow of all his portraits.  Using our gallery wall, Clay and his family chose their favorite images for some keepsake ‘accordion’ print books.  They loved all the images and decided on the full collection of digital files.

We loved working with Clay and capturing this special time for him!
