Dylan L (Cary Academy Class of 2018) contacted us in mid-June about his senior portraits. We met with him and mom, Amy, and learned more about what he was looking for.

Senior Portraits Cary: Dylan L 2018

Dylan is an avid runner, competing for Cary Academy in both cross country and track & field. He has also been a part of the Cary Academy speech and debate team, featuring in Congress; played percussion – specifically the timpani – in the school orchestra; and been a part of Beta Club and Student Council. Dylan has a laid-back personality and wanted his senior portraits to mirror his chill and cool aura.

Teresa and Dylan met for his senior portrait session in mid-August in downtown Raleigh. It was very hot and humid, but Dylan didn’t even break a sweat in his suit that featured a blue and gold striped tie, perfect for representing Cary Academy colors in his senior portraits. Then he changed into a blue and white Carleton Gingham button-down and a pair of shorts, which looked amazing against both greenery and brick backgrounds, before changing into a turquoise polo shirt to finish off his senior portrait session.

Teresa selected over 50 portraits from the session to show Dylan and his mom a few weeks later. With guidance from Teresa, Dylan chose his yearbook photos, which Teresa submitted to the Cary Academy yearbook staff on his behalf.

Dylan and his mom also used the studio gallery wall to sort the portraits into their favorites and some “maybes”. From these selections, they chose an 8×8 album and a matted and framed portrait. Additionally, they ordered the digital and social media files to have their favorite portraits on hand to look back on in the future.

Dylan graduated in May 2018 and is headed to University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he plans on studying business through the Kenan Flagler Business School.
