“I can’t believe Ethan is going to be a senior!” Ethan’s mom wrote to us. “He was only 10 at our first family photo session with Teresa”. We love working with our families through all their life milestone events.
Senior Portraits Cary: Smoke, a 4-Wheeler and an Urban Gentleman
We met with Ethan to get to know him (a lot has changed since he was 10!). He attends Clayton High School and his passions are 4-wheeling, video games, and drumming. He loves travel, and was planning a mission trip. He wanted something different than the ‘normal’ senior portraits his high school required. Our team got busy planning and came up with some creative ideas.
Justin met with Ethan at his home a few days before his session. Justin is a master at ‘shopping the closet’ and together they came up with the perfect outfits to match our creative plans, including a jacket and tie, some jeans, and a vintage T.
Ethan came to the studio the afternoon of his session for hair and make up services by our in-house make up artist, Denise. As soon as he was ready, we stepped next door for some GQ-style photos in the studio in his suit. Stunning!
We took a short walk from the studio to downtown Cary for some urban-vibe portraits in his vintage T shirt.
And then the fun really started! We went to a private property where we had arranged some 4-wheeling fun. We had not used smoke bombs on a session before, but this was the right time to try it. It was hard for Ethan to hold the smoke while driving, but he did a great job! Little brother Caleb helped too.
We captured all the fun on the behind the scenes video:
Ethan and his family returned to the studio a few weeks later, excited to see the results. They first watched the behind-the-scenes video, then a slide show of over 50 amazing portraits. The studio gallery wall was a big help, and together they sorted through and selected their favorites for wall art. We also custom-designed some graduation cards for them. But nothing could be left behind, so they also got the full digital collection to share and enjoy.
The changes in Ethan from the 10 year old we first met, to the grown up young man he is today were amazing. We loved capturing who he is now and can’t wait to see what’s next for him!
