Ethan W (Cary Academy Class of 2018) and his mom, Kathleen, got in touch with us in mid-June to discuss his senior portrait session. During our meeting, we learned that Ethan loves soccer and has played soccer for Cary Academy and the Capital Area Soccer League. In school, Ethan likes math, history, and Chinese, and outside of school, he likes to hang out with his friends and play basketball. Ethan’s demeanor is laid-back and casual, so we wanted to incorporate his style into his senior portraits.
Senior Portraits Cary: Ethan W 2018
Teresa met Ethan in mid-July in downtown Raleigh for his senior portraits. We found some cool new spots full of brightly colored backgrounds. Ethan wore a royal blue button down, khaki pants, and white sneakers, which contrasted well against a yellow door. Next, he donned a black and white dotted button down with blue and red flowers, tan shorts, and a pair of black, green, and red slides for some relaxed portraits on a metal staircase. Lastly, he wore a white polo and tan shorts for some final senior portraits to showcase his love for soccer.
Teresa selected over 50 portraits from the session to show Ethan and his parents a few weeks later. With guidance from Teresa, Ethan chose his yearbook photos, which Teresa submitted to the Cary Academy yearbook staff on his behalf. Ethan and his parents also used the studio gallery wall to sort the portraits into their favorites and some “maybes”. From these selections, they chose a 12×12 matted and framed print, an 8×8 album, a 5×7 acrylic block, and an 8×10 curved metal.
Ethan graduated in May 2018 and is headed to Wake Forest University, where he plans on majoring in finance and minoring in Chinese.
