When we met with Joe M (Cary Academy Class of 2018) and his mom, Dori, about his senior portrait session, we learned that he loves math and science, particularly chemistry, and is dedicated to sports. A phenomenal athlete, Joe wrestled for the Cary Academy team in the winter and played baseball for the rest of the year. In his free time, he likes to chill with friends and go to Jersey Mike’s. After meeting with him, we knew exactly what we wanted to do for his senior portraits.

Senior Portraits Cary: Joe M 2018

Because he spends most of his time on the field, it only made sense for Teresa and Joe to meet at the Cary Academy baseball field in early July for his senior portrait session. Decked out in his full uniform with his gear on hand, we got some cool senior portraits in the dugout and on the field. Then, Joe changed into a light bluish gray t-shirt and tan shorts for more senior portraits around Cary Academy’s campus. Our next stop was the Reedy Creek extension, where Joe wore a dark blue, long sleeved button down and khaki pants, and we finished out the senior portrait session at Jersey Mike’s.

Teresa selected over 50 senior portraits from the session to show Joe and his parents a few weeks later. With guidance from Teresa, Joe chose his yearbook photos, which Teresa submitted to the Cary Academy yearbook staff on his behalf. Joe and his parents also used the studio gallery wall to sort the senior portraits into their favorites and some “maybes”. From these selections, they chose to order an 11×14 print to mirror one of his sister’s senior portraits and an 8×8 linen album.

Joe graduated in May 2018 and is headed to Elon University, where he plans on studying exercise science and hopes to play a club sport – wrestling, baseball, or maybe something new.
