Twins Lia and Ava L were excited about their senior year (Cary Academy 2020). Similar, yet different, we were excited about their Senior Portraits Cary.
Senior Portraits Cary: Urban puddles, Canoes, and a Parking Deck
We met with Lia in early Spring before her senior year. We learned Lia loves cross-country competition, outdoor adventures, cooking shows, and hanging with her dog.
For her senior portraits Cary, she wanted to include nature, with a casual feel. She loves the color turquoise, and definitely wanted to include outdoor running. Our team got busy planning her session for the summer.
Lia treated herself to hair and make-up services just before her session by our in-house artist, Denise. We all loved her long hair and the perfect beach curls that Denise gave her, perfect for her studio session.
Then we travelled to downtown Durham where we spent more time than we thought we would just for photographs in the parking deck. We found a puddle that was a little gross (Justin and Bridget were not fans!), but it had amazing reflections.
From there we went to West Point on the Eno. With the light in her hair, especially under the trees, she looked like she had fairy hair! And a stack of canoes was the perfect nod to her love of outdoors.
We had another short session a few days later at Lake Crabtree where we captured her running along the beach. It’s all on the behind-the-scenes video:
Lia returned to the studio with her family a few weeks later to view her portraits and video. She selected her yearbook portraits, which we submitted on her behalf, and digital files.
We loved working with Lia and twin sister Ava and were thrilled to also create amazing family portraits in the Fall of their senior year to remember this special time.
