Maura is a champion pole vaulter. In the spring of her senior year, she wanted some special portraits to represent her senior year – much more than just the ‘traditional’ portraits could capture. We were thrilled to get started!
Senior Portraits Cary: Pole Vaulting and More
When we met with Maura, we learned about her amazing accomplishments, including her transition to pole vaulting after being a gymnast for many years. She loves trying new things and being with her family. With only a few months left in her senior year at Panther Creek High School, we got busy!
We were thrilled to design senior portrait sessions that captured her incredible athletic talent, and included traditional urban and natural settings. We also planned a classic athletic advertisement style session in our studio.
With some dramatic lighting, we captured portraits of Maura in our studio that could be future sports ads!
We got special permission to use the field at a nearby high school and loved watching Maura ‘fly’ through the air against the dramatic sky.
A few weeks later, Downtown Durham was the scene for some more traditional portraits.

Maura returned to the studio with her family a few weeks later to view her portraits and video. They chose a beautiful custom-designed album, some acrylic block prints, and the full collection of digital files (because they were all just so amazing!).
As part of all of our senior fusion portrait sessions, we include a free family portrait session. We were thrilled to capture the love of Maura and her family in some timeless family portraits.
Whether it is on the field or off, Maura will soar on to a successful future!
