McKenna P (Bishop Guertin Class of 2018) was a special senior portrait session for us because she traveled all the way from Massachusetts to work with us. In mid-April, we talked with her and mom, Denene, over FaceTime and learned that McKenna loves visual art. She’s skilled at drawing with pencils and charcoal and is starting to get into photography. McKenna also loves traveling and has been to Iceland, Italy, Greece, and France, and will be going to Hawaii this summer. We absolutely loved her blonde curls and deep blue eyes and wanted to highlight them in her senior portraits.

Senior Portraits Cary: McKenna P 2018

Teresa and McKenna met for her senior portraits in mid-August in Durham while the family was visiting relatives in NC. The team had already scouted out some new locations before her senior portrait session, so we knew all of the unique places to use for McKenna. McKenna wore a simple long-sleeved black dress that made her stand out against the urban background. She looked beautiful in a blue top and jeans against a blue wall that brought out her eyes. McKenna also wore a white top with jeans, which looked amazing surrounded by bricks and concrete. McKenna is super close to her younger brother, so we knew we had to incorporate him into the senior portrait session.

Teresa selected over 50 portraits from the session to show McKenna and her mom a few weeks later. McKenna and her mom also used the studio gallery wall to sort the portraits into their favorites and some “maybes”. From these selections, they chose one yearbook portrait, an unframed canvas, and two matted and framed prints. Additionally, they ordered the digital files to have all of the portraits on hand to look back on in the future.

McKenna graduated in June 2018 and is excited to be taking karate and volunteering at her town’s public library. In the fall, she is headed to University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where she will be a part of the Commonwealth Honors College.
