Despite the looming pandemic, Mila (Cary Academy Class of 2021) was excited to schedule her senior portraits Cary with us as her first real ‘senior’ activity.  She took advantage of our early booking savings in January and got her choice of session dates for the following summer before her senior year.

Senior Portraits Cary:  Bollywood and Paris in NC

We met with Mila and her mom to plan her Senior Portraits Cary.  We learned that Mila loves Bollywood and is on a competitive team.  She has been dancing since she was in first grade.  She also loves graphic design.  At school, she is part of a competitive business challenge with a couple of her friends and is an accomplished entrepreneur.

For her senior portraits Cary session, Mila wanted to include a nod to her family traditions, but also some more modern magazine/editorial style images.  And she wanted to wear her favorite red cocktail dress!

We met with Mila at her home before her session to see the famous red dress and help her select her other outfits.  Then our creative team created a custom session plan to accomplish Mila’s vision for her senior portraits Cary.

On her session date, Mila first came to the studio for hair and make-up services by our resident artist, Denise.  The studio air conditioning was in full force on this hot summer day.  Mila was beautiful in her traditional Indian outfit, and we got some dramatic modern editorial images.

The next part of the session was at the NC Museum of Art and featured Mila’s favorite red dress.  Mila was a master at following our directions for posing – probably because of all those years of dancing!  Every position was gorgeous, and every toe was pointed!

For the last part of the session, we arranged special access to Lafayette Village in Raleigh which has elegant Parisian scenes, including a colorful and dramatic flower mural.  Mila wore the blue dress from her Ms. Indian NC pageant, and this made for one breathing taking “is this North Carolina?” scene.

Mila and her family returned to the studio a few weeks later to watch the behind-the-scenes video and a slideshow of all her portraits.  Mila chose her yearbook images.  She and her family loved all the portraits, so they chose the full collection of digital files which captured this memorable time for Mila.

Mila is now an accomplished business major at Georgia Tech, and the co-founder and CEO of Blora Beauty, a skincare company.  We can’t wait to see what’s next for her if she is this accomplished already!
