Mohala K (Cary Academy Class of 2018) and her mom, Nani, contacted us about her senior portraits in early June, so we could get to know her. Mohala loves all things art. She specializes in drawing stick figure comics for literature, including Macbeth, Twelfth Night, and A Tale of Two Cities. She also took part in several plays and musicals at Cary Academy. She has a witty sense of humor and loves spending time with her friends and dogs.

Senior Portraits Cary: Mohala K 2018

Teresa met Mohala in late June at her home in Cary. Her bright pink dress stood out against the greenery in her backyard. Then she changed into a blue tank, tan shorts, and red flats for more casual portraits on her back deck. Lastly, she donned a blue striped dress. She accessorized with a purple lei of fresh flowers that came from Hawaii as that’s where her family is from. We were able to get some adorable portraits with her dogs, Makai and Kula.

Teresa selected over 50 portraits from the session to show Mohala and her parents a few weeks later. With guidance from Teresa, Mohala chose her yearbook photos, which Teresa submitted to the Cary Academy yearbook staff on her behalf. Mohala and her parents also used the studio gallery wall to sort the portraits into their favorites and some “maybes”. From these selections, they chose a linen storybox with an easel.

Mohala graduated in May 2018 and is headed to Dickinson College.
