We met with Will T (Cary Academy Class of 2018) and mom, Julie, in late August to learn more about him and plan his senior portrait session. In school, Will favored chemistry and history. An outdoorsman at heart, Will was the head of the Outdoors Club at Cary Academy and has loved backpacking and hiking for several years. Will’s other hobbies include photography, running on the track and field team at Cary Academy, singing, wrestling, and raising quails, having started selling quail eggs at the age of seven. Will is laid-back and casual, and we knew just how to bring out his personality through his senior portraits.

Senior Portraits Cary: Will T 2018

In early October, Will and Teresa met for the first half of his senior portraits at the Eno River. In a short-sleeved, white button down patterned with birds and olive green pants, Will looked at home among the trees. Then Will put on khaki pants and a light blue t-shirt and blue sneakers. There was a really interesting underpass nearby, so Will climbed up on it for more portraits. Teresa also got some portraits of him with his camera as they bonded over their love of photography. A week and a half later, Teresa and Will met up in downtown Cary for the second half of his senior portrait session.

Teresa selected over 50 portraits from the session to show Will and his parents a few weeks later. With guidance from Teresa, Will chose his yearbook photos, which Teresa submitted to the Cary Academy yearbook staff on his behalf. Will and his parents also used the studio gallery wall to sort the portraits into their favorites and some “maybes”. From these selections, they chose an 8×8 linen album, two 10×10 linen albums, three Musea prints, and a set of 25 cards. Additionally, they ordered the digital files to have all of the portraits and video on hand to look back on in the future.

Will graduated in May 2018 and is headed to Cornell University.
