With senior year fast approaching, Olivia and her brother Lincoln (twins!) got in touch to schedule their senior portraits Cary (Cary Academy Class of 2021).
Senior Portraits Cary: Twins but not the same
We met with Olivia and her mom in the spring of her junior year at our studio to plan her Senior Portraits Cary. Olivia loves playing volleyball, participating in debate, hiking in the woods, and hanging with her wide group of friends.
For her senior portraits Cary, Olivia wanted to include a ‘downtown’ vibe. She prefers a glamourous and fashion-oriented session. Mom particularly wanted complimentary portraits of Olivia and her twin Lincoln for their home.
We scheduled Olivia’s first portrait session for mid-July and met with her a few weeks before that to help her select her outfits. One less thing to worry about!
For Olivia’s first Senior Portraits Cary session, she began with hair and make-up services by Denise. We started her session in our studio with portraits to compliment those of her twin brother, Lincoln – same antique chair, but a totally different vibe.
The next part of her session was in downtown Durham where Olivia mastered the ‘silly walk’ and the ‘dance with your arms up’ poses that make most people feel so cringy they don’t commit to it. Olivia not only did, but she also nailed it! We snuck into a parking garage under a hotel where an abandoned luggage cart provided some hilarious moment (mom enjoyed pushing her a bit too much!).
At our second session with Olivia, we went to our private farm location for some sun-kissed rustic portraits. We were so glad our sunflowers gave us a few more days of blooms. We had a good laugh about helping her take off her shoes while she was in a tree swing…it’s not as easy as it looks!

Olivia and her family returned to the studio a few weeks later to watch the behind-the-scenes video and a slideshow of all her portraits. Using our gallery wall, Olivia chose her yearbook portraits. His family chose complimentary canvases of her and twin brother Lincoln, an heirloom album for Olivia, and some unique desktop presentations. They loved all the images and decided on the full collection of digital files.
We loved working with this family and capturing this special time for Olivia!
