Durham Academy high school senior Lexi K and her family reached out to Teresa Porter of My Friend Teresa Studios for senior portraits in mid summer. We had worked with the family previously for family portraits. And Teresa Porter works with little sister Madison for photography lessons. We were thrilled to work with Lexi and her family again for Lexi’s senior portraits!

Lexi was seeking an urban, rustic look for her portraits. She chose the Raleigh warehouse district. We had done portraits with her family there before. Lexi wanted us to capture her personality and love of music, so we made sure to have her bring her guitar as a prop. The corner of a Raleigh warehouse with a rusty iron gate and a rough graffiti wall was the perfect backdrop for Lexi and her guitar. Lexi’s beautiful eyes were a striking feature of her portraits when set against the urban landscape. A nearby field provided a more natural look. That’s where we captured Lexi’s outdoor spirit and bright smile.
A few weeks later, we met with Lexi and her family to review the beautiful proofs of her session. Lexi chose her yearbook photo. Mom and Dad wanted to share the portraits with family and friends. They chose 12 of their favorites to include in a custom designed set of accordion books. As a special keepsake, Lexi and her family had us design a custom senior album of 20-3o portraits, which captured her beautifully in a lay-flat heirloom style book.
Lexi is a creative singer-songwriter, and an awesome big sister. We hear she is also famous for her flower doodles! She is very close with her family and wherever her adventures take her, she will no doubt bring beautiful music to their future.
