Eyes pinched shut, body twisted, hands balled in a fist. A fragile, frustrated cry escapes her 3-day-old lips. And mom. Equally as brand-new to this, eyes closed peacefully, arms strong and knowing, with her body curled in close. A fragile, delighted smile peaks through. Brand-new mom. Brand-new baby. And this moment, which will never look like this again. Only a new mom, her head rushing with love she’s never felt before, and a little woozy with exhaustion, finds so much joy in the needful cry of her baby. And this is the moment I learned to never.stop.shooting. Especially in moments like this, which are so delightfully imperfect. I’m still photographing this wonderful family . . . can you spot them on the homepage?
