The Ten Pictures That Got Me Here – #3: Beautiful Laughter
Kalee had beautiful flowing black curls that were begging for a little movement in the fading sunlight around on the steps of an old farm supply. I asked my assistant Robert to give her a little artificial wind by fanning her with the giant light reflector. What happened next . . . completely changed my brand-style from that point forward. The wind hit her hair in a ridiculous side-wind that made Kalee belly laugh. The linen white of her dress and the whitewashed walls, the pops of blue in the flowers on her dress, the perfect movement in her hair and more than anything . . . a genuine moment of bent-over, eyes-shut laughter. The way this picture illustrated the authentic connection we shared as photographer and client made me want to create every image to this new standard.
