Tree-sa changing so it must be fall!
Listen. I did put serious thought into whether or not to include my dad joke, and I’ve decided we’re just going for it. Why? Because it’s FALL and the crisp air has me ready to dip my head in a bucket of apples. Or, drink an Apple Crisp Macchiato from Starbucks, one or the other. Senior portraits in the fall are all about getting in to nature and some of our favorite places to photograph high school senior portraits in the Triangle area are below. Fall High School Senior Portraits in Chapel Hill, NC
There is something about a heavy, textured, cable knit sweater that just makes fall feel like it is jumping out of the page. Estella’s high school senior portraits were in Chapel Hill, NC in the fall. We enjoyed places around the UNC campus, including a few hidden trails with amazing light that breaks through the trees at the end of the day. Estella’s choice of a lightwash denim with the lighter toned sweater was perfect, it brings her off the background but doesn’t distract us from her face. It even makes her amazing hair pop.
Fall High School Senior Portraits in Raleigh, NC
Maybe you’re more of a leather jacket kind of person. Jordan’s mix of autumn tones with the warm brown jacket was absolutely beautiful at Lake Crabtree in Raleigh where we did her fall high school senior portraits. There are a few places around the lake, just off from the main lake area off the parking lot that are back lit with incredible light. The perfect lens selection and some beauty lighting and Jordan is looking flawless in the yellow autumn leaves. We did most of Jordan’s session in the summer but saved this special outfit for a perfect fall day in October.
Fall High School Senior Portraits in Hillsborough, NC
Everyone looks good in a suit. Everyone looks good AND comfortable in a suit in the fall. Don’t get me wrong, we have our share of high school senior guys wearing suits in sessions throughout the summer – walking the streets of Durham and Raleigh, trying not to pour sweat…and somehow they never look like it in photographs (we have tricks!). But if you can put on your suit and not feel too hot, well then we have ourselves the ideal environment to relax in to some GQ worthy poses. We love when guys include a more formal styled look for their session. It’s a great base for more mature photographs that express where you are going while still looking like you. This custom purple suit for Christopher was absolutely insane against the warm yellow and green background. Christopher is on top of a parking deck in Hillsborough, NC.
Fall Athlete High School Senior Portraits in Apex, NC
If it isn’t sweaters and it isn’t suits – maybe you’re all about the fall senior portraits for athletes doing fall sports. An hour before sunset in those later days of fall, we are treated to warm orange and yellow sunsets that somehow look like fall. For Thales varsity soccer athlete Wyndham, hitting the home field at sunset didn’t feel like work at all – it was play time. After some gorgeous urban neutral backgrounds around Downtown Apex he was ready to trade in the sneakers for his cleats. Even his signature headband had to come out. Downtown Apex offers some unique small town backdrops that are universal enough to feel like big time urban or Mayberry. Athlete senior portraits in Cary, Raleigh, Apex, and surrounding areas are always one of our favorite things to do – but we especially love bundling up in a sweatshirt and photographing you playing until sunset.
